Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR)

ARISE (Asia Pacific Rheumatology Intensive Scientific Education) is an educational program that Janssen Asia Pacific runs in partnership with APLAR (Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology) that aims to address the growing healthcare burden of rheumatology and spondyloarthritis in Asia Pacific through disease awareness and education. This pioneering platform for medical education has achieved significant success in China, Korea, India, Hong Kong and Cambodia since its launch at the 15th Annual APLAR Congress in 2012. The educational scope of the program went global in 2014 with the launch of the ARISE with APLAR Global Partnership for Excellence in Rheumatology. Launched at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, in August 2014, the week-long program enabled 13 of China’s top rheumatologists to engage with the University’s leading experts in immunity and inflammation with the ambition of building Centers of Excellence in the region.
