Today the microbiome is an exciting but evolving field and there are many scientific, regulatory, and commercial questions that must be answered in order to successfully translate microbiome insights into solutions. JHMI brings focus to vast experience across Janssen that we are applying, along with our partners, to address these challenges.

We are actively working with regulators, scientists, and industry to define regulatory pathways and requirements for microbiome-based medicines, diagnostics, and products; collaborating with leading academic researchers to identify solutions that will connect today’s highly fragmented data with standardized analytics that can answer the field’s most pressing scientific questions; committing to research that will deepen understanding of host-microbe interactions; and partnering with the microbiome scientific community to build protectable intellectual property in the field, to encourage and sustain innovation.
