Sustainable mobility

Sustainable mobility

We are a growing and sustainable company. Janssen in Belgium has more than 5,000 employees, and we are still growing steadily. We expect all our employees to contribute to our mission as conveniently, safely and sustainably as possible. Therefore, we, as an ambassador of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), try to make sustainable commuting attractive, and we promote working from home.

Working from home

A lot of employees work from home one or two days a week, saving travel time and fuel and facilitating a work-life balance. This minimizes our environmental footprint and directly improves the well-being of our employees.

Satellite offices

Our employees can also save travel time and fuel by booking a free flex workspace in one of the satellite offices, spread over 11 locations in Belgium: Aalst, Berchem, Brecht, Brussels, Ghent, Hasselt, Herentals, Leuven, Liège, Mechelen and Namur. Colleagues working on a project can also book a meeting room in these satellite offices

Biking

Our bike lease program provides every employee with a comfortable and safe bicycle. In addition to (electric) city bikes, this offer also includes cargo bikes, racing bikes and speed pedelecs. Do you choose the latter? Then you get a free training on top of that. More and more employees are opting for this program. Because cycling is not only good for the environment, but also for your health. With the option of leasing an (electric) folding bike, we also make the combination with public transport (even with the J&J WIFI bus) possible.

Our cycling buddies and ambassadors, who have a repair kit, are also happy to share all their tips & tricks about cycling (to work). Are major repairs needed? Then the repair columns on our sites can also be a solution.

Avoid traffic jams with the J&J WIFI bus

We provide a J&J WIFI bus for commuters to and from our campus in Beerse. Employees coming from different directions could be picked up in Berchem, near the train station. They can travel in comfort and may even get some of their work done by the time they get off the bus.

Carpooling

Carpooling significantly reduces CO2 emissions, with the added bonus of greater social contact with colleagues. Carpoolers benefit from a guaranteed parking space near the entrance to the company premises.

Working together for sustainable mobility

Transport is often a matter of habit. We tend to choose the familiar and easy option, but this is not always the best one. That is why our Core Team Mobility has developed an effective Smart & Sustainability Plan. Through this plan, which is based on the needs of the user, we guide our employees in their new mobility, so that they experience how easy it is to use the car less. Moreover, they get to know more alternative means of transport and workplaces. In this way, we contribute together to a smaller impact on mobility, the climate and air pollution.
