Janssen co-leider of CARE Consortium

We are proud to announce that Janssen is co-leader of the CARE Consortium (Corona Accelerated R&D in Europe). Supported by the European Innovative Medicines Initiative, CARE brings together scientists from academia, research institutes and large and small pharmaceutical companies in the fight against COVID-19. With 37 partners, CARE is the largest collaborative effort in Europe to accelerate research and development of treatments against COVID-19.

We are investigating the possibilities of using existing medicines in the current pandemic, and through further research we aim to better understand the disease so that we can develop new medicines against COVID-19 and other coronaviruses, which may have the potential to cause epidemics. In this way we contribute to increased preparedness for possible future outbreaks. This initiative is part of our broad approach to contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes the development of our vaccine.
