Janssen is recruiting technically talented operators

Janssen conducts scientific research on innovative medicines. Once developed, the production departments have the task of producing and packaging the medicines so that they are ready for distribution on the market. For its production departments, Janssen regularly recruits technical operators, people with a feel and talent for innovative techniques. This is a fine job with countless challenges, and it refutes the myth that working on a production line is dull.

Although Janssen deploys the very latest technology to produce its medicines, the people in the production areas remain important links in the chain. In a three-shift system, about fifteen people operate several lines in each shift. Every production line is manned by two to four technical operators, one of them with a technical profile.

Versatility is what we need

The technical operators make sure that enough packaging material is available and conduct quality checks in the different phases of production. They also intervene in case of technical problems and convert the lines for other formats and volumes of bottles and tubes. A job at the Janssen production line is not a repetitive job. It's not a lonely profession either, thanks to the close collaboration with other colleagues. The challenge to bring all orders to the patients safely, with the right quality and quickly, requires excellent team spirit.

For the job of technical operator, Janssen recruits people with a technical A2 degree or with similar experience, but especially with a feel for technology. Specific training is given on the job and may take from a couple of months to one year. Afterwards, there are also some specific technical (component) training courses.
