At Janssen, we have a responsibility to society and to the planet at large. That’s why we strive to improve the health of both individuals and the communities in which we live – through access to healthcare and education, and by caring for our carers and for the planet.
Our Credo guides our role in society
We have a responsibility to the communities in which we live and work, as well as to the global community. We must help people be healthier by supporting better access and care in more places around the world. We must be good citizens by supporting good works and charities and better health and education, while bearing our fair share of taxes.Read Our credo

Janssen EMEA has a fund, managed by the Johnson & Johnson Foundation (Scotland), to support charitable initiatives across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The Johnson & Johnson Foundation (Scotland) is a charitable organisation that reflects the commitment of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies to keeping people well at every age and every stage of life. By blending heart, science and ingenuity, we can profoundly change the trajectory of health for humanity.
Guided by Johnson & Johnson’s Center for Health Worker Innovation (CHWI), the Foundation’s mission is to support and champion the people on the front lines who are at the heart of delivering care, including nurses, midwives and community health workers.
In EMEA, the Johnson & Johnson Foundation (Scotland) works with many partners, working on innovative long-term solutions across the EMEA region to build capacity and improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable populations.Learn more about the Johnson & Johnson Foundation

Our COVID-19 response
Kris Sterkens, Company Group Chairman, Janssen EMEA
For over a century, Johnson & Johnson has actively engaged in fighting global outbreaks from TB to HIV and Ebola. Our knowledge and experience, successes and set-backs alike, inform everything we’re doing today to help eradicate COVID-19.
- A vaccine will be critical to tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re committed to bringing an affordable vaccine to the public on a not-for-profit basis for emergency pandemic use, provided the investigational vaccine is safe and effective.
- We’re committed to supporting frontline healthcare workers and our communities. We are delivering critical support for communities and health workers on the frontlines. In March, the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies and the Johnson & Johnson Foundation committed $50 million dollars to support frontline health workers—from meals to protective equipment, extra training to mental health.
- In response to COVID-19, Janssen EMEA, along with our Medical Devices and Consumer Health companies, made $5 million of the $50 million available to support the needs of health workers in the EMEA region through our BacktheFrontline campaign.

The Johnson & Johnson Center for Health Worker Innovation (CHWI) was founded in response to the human resource crisis in global health, with the aim of building a thriving healthcare workforce.
Using a people-first model, the centre focuses on equipping nurses, midwives and community health workers across the globe with the skills, resources and support they need to improve quality of care and strengthen primary and community-based health systems.
Our global public health work
At Janssen, we’re dedicated to fighting infectious diseases that have the broadest impact on human health.
Through science and innovation, we aim to deliver an end-to-end approach to prevent, treat and cure infectious diseases. Our efforts are focused on tackling the most complex infectious diseases, finding the right paths of intervention, and making sure that intervention reaches those in need.
We have an ambitious goal: to create a future where we can prevent the spread of infectious diseases and eliminate the burden they place on global health.Learn more about our fight against infectious diseases
