Cycling for Children 2021

On Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10-12 September 2021, Janssen EMEA’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Cycling for Children, is back for its fourth year!

What to expect this year?

This year all employees are invited to help raise money for UNICEF by cycling kilometers, from anywhere in their neighborhoods (with or without colleagues), the gym or at home.

This edition will take place virtually and the raised funds will go to two UNICEF programmes in South Africa. The first programme is providing basic services to cover children’s emotional, physical and social development needs in so called safe parks. A safe park is a protected, secure and stimulating place for children in under-resourced communities to interact and play under supervision of a qualified child and youth care worker. The second programme is called 'Positive Parenting' and works to improve the mental health of young people in the country, by helping fathers and other male figures be positive influencers on children.

For every 1 km cycled, the Johnson & Johnson Foundation will donate €1.

Our goal for this year? For 1,000 J&J employees to participate and to travel around the world together, which means cycling more than 40,000 km in total.

Donate! Everyone can support this year's event by making a donation on the UNICEF 'Cycling for Children gofundme' page. (Feel free to share this link with all your family, friends and people in your networks if they want to make a contribution)

The 2020 edition

Thanks to more than 750 Johnson & Johnson employees, 2020 was a great success.

Employees cycled more than 35,000 kilometers and the Johnson & Johnson Foundation donated 50,000 euro to SOS Children’s Villages. With this contribution, we were able to help 2,500 children who needed mental health support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
