Description: Janssen is partnering with Welsh Government, Public Health Wales and Cardiff Vale University Health board to create a personalised database that can critically analyse the outcome data for patients with myeloma. This project will deliver a mechanism for measuring the impact of treatment, for generating Real World Evidence, for operationalising complex patient access schemes and in the longer term, there is potential for the database to optimise cost allocation for Wales.

Janssen, Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, The Apperta Foundation and Rethink Mental Illness £81,000 (including staff time) December 2017 12 months

Description: Janssen is partnering with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, The Apperta Foundation and patient organisation ‘Rethink Mental Illness’ in the development of a mobile application (App) that enables patients with schizophrenia to become leaders in the management of their own physical health. The App will support patients taking an active role in monitoring and improving their physical health and, in partnership with Healthcare Professionals, the performance of regular physical health checks according to the gold standard clinical guidelines. The aim of the App is thus to improve the physical health outcomes of patients with mental illness.

Description: The aims of the Project are to examine the acceptability from all perspectives (patients, carers, clinicians and commissioners) of different models of service delivery in terms of monitoring of patients with metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer treated with abiraterone and prednisolone and to identify any cost implications, whether in terms of cost savings or increased costs and what is the patient preference and benefit.

Description: The Royal Derby Hospital and Janssen are engaged in a Joint Working project in metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer patients and kidney cancer patients who are receiving oral agents for their treatment. The aim is to provide improvements in both prostate and kidney cancer outcomes. This agreement is to support a Part time (0.6wte) Band 6 Nurse at The Royal Derby Hospital Cancer Centre.

Description: A joint working agreement between Janssen Healthcare Innovation and Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to redesign the management of patients with Heart Failure in the region as a pilot study. The aims are to establish a more integrated and efficient service to manage patients with Heart Failure across the key local providers including primary care, specialist community Heart Failure team and secondary care, within the Buckinghamshire region. Leveraging custom-designed technology platforms to support the care pathway, this project aims to improve sharing of clinical information and care plans of all patients with Heart Failure across all healthcare professionals, support monitoring of patients in the community to identify patients who are decompensating early to support earlier interventions, streamline referrals, and reduce unplanned hospital admissions and length of stay.

Additional Description: BHT have contributed £100,000 to this project to be used for additional IT support for the integration process and the enrolment of a specialist community heart failure nurse.

Description: A Joint Working Agreement between Janssen and Solihull Hospital’s Dermatology Department for a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Dermatology Department to assist in registering patients into British Association of Dermatologists Biologic Interventions Register (BADBIR) and to complete screening of patients using the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) & Psoriasis Area Severity index (PASI) systems.

Description: A Joint Working Agreement between Janssen-Cilag Ltd and The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust to jointly fund an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to provide high quality support to the prostate, kidney and bladder cancer clinics across three hospital sites at Clatterbridge, Broadgreen and the Linda McCartney Centre. The nurse will optimise continuity of care by supporting the consultant service in outpatients, while establishing audit and research projects and maintaining effective communication between all parts of the service pathway.

Description: A Joint Working Agreement between Janssen and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust to jointly fund a Specialist Uro-Oncology Nurse to develop and lead a high quality service for the assessment and management of patients with advanced prostate cancer. The service will be based on evidence based practices and will support the Oncology service, collaborating with the Urology Multidisciplinary Team and ultimately improving patient experience and outcomes.
