Sustainable mobility

Sustainable mobility

We are a growing and sustainable company. Janssen in Belgium has more than 5,000 employees, and we are still growing steadily. We expect all our employees to contribute to our mission as conveniently, safely and sustainably as possible. Therefore, we try to make sustainable commuting attractive, and we promote working from home.

Working from home

A lot of employees work from home one or more days a week, saving travel time and fuel and facilitating a work-life balance. This minimizes our environmental footprint and directly improves the well-being of our employees!

A bike for everyone

Every employee can get hold of a comfortable and safe bike through our bike lease program, and more and more employees are choosing this option. Cycling is great for your health, as well as the environment. Offering our employees the opportunity of leasing an electric or standard folding bike also opens up the option of combining cycling with public transport (and even the J&J WIFI bus).

Avoid traffic jams with the J&J WIFI bus

We provide a 'J&J WIFI bus' for commuters to and from our campus in Beerse. Employees coming from different directions could be picked up in Berchem, near the train station. They can travel in comfort and may even get some of their work done by the time they get off the bus!

Carpooling

Carpooling significantly reduces CO2 emissions, with the added bonus of greater social contact with colleagues. Carpoolers benefit from a guaranteed parking space near the entrance to the company premises.

Working together for sustainable mobility

Transport is often a matter of habit. We tend to choose the familiar and easy option, but this is not always the best one. Together with Via Mobile, we have developed an effective Smart Mobility Plan based on users' needs. The result is a clear change in behavior toward choosing alternative transport options and greater support for sustainable mobility. We also work very closely with governments (municipalities and cities), partners such as VOKA and companies based nearby to develop solutions to improve mobility in our region.
