What is Jom Doing?

WHAT IS JOM DOING TO PROTECT THE SUPPLY CHAIN?

Over the past three years, there has been a significant increase in reported cases of counterfeit prescription medications in the U.S./Puerto Rico marketplace. We are deeply concerned about this disturbing trend and the threat it poses to public health. Everyone directly involved in the pharmaceutical supply chain-wholesalers, distributors, and healthcare providers-must work together to ensure patient safety by protecting the supply chain from the potential entry of counterfeit drugs.

JOM Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. (JOM), is implementing a brand security program that includes the application of state-of-the-art anti-counterfeiting technologies to the packaging of our major products. We will continue to expand and modify these features over time.

In addition to applying anti-counterfeiting technologies to our product packaging, we are working with our wholesaler and distributor partners to close the potential gaps in the supply chain that could allow for the entry of counterfeit products into the marketplace. Counterfeit copies of our products can enter the supply chain at any point that a wholesaler or distributor purchases pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical products of the companies that JOM supports from any source other than JOM or an authorized JOM wholesaler or distributor. This alternative source is often referred to as the secondary market. The secondary market can create an entry point for counterfeit product and poses many uncertainties with regard to how product is handled and stored as it flows through the supply chain.

JOM is collaborating with our U.S. and Puerto Rico wholesaler and distributor partners to address the challenges raised by the secondary market. The JOM AUTHORIZED WHOLESALERS AND DISTRIBUTORS PAGE lists all authorized wholesalers and distributors in the U.S. and Puerto Rico who have agreed not to purchase, market, sell, or distribute any pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical products of the JOM affiliate companies, for whom they are listed as authorized distributors, that have been obtained from any source other than JOM.

If your supplier is not one of these authorized wholesalers or distributors included on the JOM AUTHORIZED WHOLESALERS AND DISTRIBUTORS PAGE you may want to request written assurances that they only buy products from these authorized wholesalers or distributors.
